Ever finish a book and want to pick it right up again for a re-read? That’s exactly how I felt with this great book by futurist Jonathan Brill: Rogue Waves: Future-Proof Your Business to Survive & Profit from Radical Change. That title makes a lot of promises, and I think this book keeps them.

Dr. Tiffany Vora recommends the book Rogue Waves by Jonathan Brill.

If the future feels more uncertain than ever, well, that’s because it is. Technological change would be difficult enough to handle, but combining it with today’s social, economic, and environmental undercurrents sets the stage for the “rogue waves” of the title that can upend your business—or even your industry.

💡 To help shift our mindsets away from blind fear of the future, Brill shares a series of frameworks that empower leaders to navigate their organizations through challenging times.

Many examples from the business world illustrate important learnings from Brill’s methods. And sections with titles like “Today’s To-Dos for Tomorrow” bring home the big-picture messages in the form of actionable insights.

Each chapter of Rogue Waves felt like it deserved a full week of my attention, which is why I’ll be returning to this book soon. I’m looking forward to bringing these insights into my own futurism practice. I bet that your way of looking at the future(s) will also change after reading this book. Happy reading!
